This week we will the last part of the first chapter of James. This passage presents practical instruction on Faith that Works. James challenges each of us to let the Word of God change our lives. He point to the fact that if we live out what we hear from Gods word in faith then it will be heard in what we say and seen in what we do. Here the scripture gives us tool to test wether or not our faith is working.
This week we begin a new series of messages that will take us through the book of James. Many have called James the “proverbs” of the New Testament. The wisdom it called us to is the testing of our faith. There are many counterfeits in the world. The most dangerous counterfeits are false faiths religions and philosophies that deceive people into believing that they are in God’s favor. But, in reality the ideas that they have been following have led them away from Jesus and a faith that works. This weeks message will focus on the first chapter where we are called to understand that the testing of our faith actually purifies our faith and can prove to us whether it is genuine or counterfeit.
This morning as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus we will look at the story as told by Luke's Gospel. The dramatic life changing events of that first Easter morning point us to the Power of Easter. Join us and see that life changing power is available for you.
The revelation of Jesus leads to his ultimate goal for all of us. His redemptive plan has been working toward a time and a place where we are able to live with Him in harmony and Joy. The last two chapters of the book describe the fulfillment of this plan in revealing a new heaven and early. Join us as we tour the wonderful descriptions given to us in these passages.
This week we come to one of the one of the most sinister images of the book of the revelation. The Beast or the Antichrist. Many books have been written on this subject and hollywood as used this theme in many a movie, but the books and movies rarely reveal the true meaning of his seductive plan. His revealed purpose to cause the people of the world to worship Satan. We need to unveil his purposes, for the Bible says that the spirit of Antichrist is already at work in the world.
This week we will focus on the central part of the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Chapters 5-16 cover the 7 years of the tribulation and describe this period from a heavenly view point as, the breaking of seals, blowing of trumpets and the pouring of bowls. These are amazing images that cause us to rejoice in the saving work of Jesus Christ who is the Lamb of God.
This Sunday we will be looking at the second division of the book of the Revelation. Jesus said John was to write what he had seen, then "what is”. This then refers to the condition of the churches in Asia (modern day Turkey). Here in chapters 2 and 3 are seven letters to seven churches. Even though they have a historic application for that day, each letter ends with the admonition for everyone to listen and pay attention. We will invite you to hear what Jesus has to say to us today.
